Lobster Tails: Made Tastier by Ways of Preparation

For people who enjoy eating seafood, the greatest delight they can choose when they want to sink their teeth into ocean delicacies, is lobsters. Lobsters are extremely delicious and at times are considered to be the kings of the sea. According to connoisseurs of seafood, the meatiest and tastiest portion of a lobster is the tail. Lobster tails are cooked in various ways and are served to people in different styles.

Maine lobsters, supposedly the tastiest in the world, are bought from the market as whole or only the tails are bought to make delicious dishes. Here are some ways in which lobster tails can be cooked.

Boil Them

This is by far the easiest way of cooking lobster tails. Take salted water, bring it to a boil and drop the tails in it. Lower the heat and cook the tails for five to fifteen minutes. The cooking time depends on the size of the tails. Once the meat is cooked, crack the shells open and enjoy the succulent meat.

Broil Them

If you want to broil your lobster tails, first cut it down the length and lift the meat just a little. This way you have to ‘piggyback’ the meat. Then you can season the lobster as per your taste. First you have to bake the meat for a bit and then, in the end, for a few minutes, set the tails under the broiler. Presentation wise, broiled lobster tails look beautiful.

Pan Sear Them

If you want to pan sear the lobster tails, you have to take them out of the shells without tearing the meat apart. The lobster meat ‘filet’ can then be cooked directly in the skillet in oil or butter.

Grill Them

You can first boil the tails for sometime before you grill them and then cut them in half so that you have a ‘shell side’ and a ‘meat side’. Baste them with butter and lime or your favorite marinade and put them on the grill. However, make sure you don’t overcook the meat.

Fry Them

This is definitely not a healthy option but is definitely tasty. Cut the tail in half and toss it in breadcrumbs or flour. Then deep fry them.
